When things get tough…

But Elijah was not the only one to feel that way. Moses wanted to die back in Num11:14-15 he said ‘I am not able to bear these people alone, ….. please kill me here and now’. And so did Job (Job 3:20-21 and Jonah (Jonah4:3) Of course this is not the answer to despair because it is selfish and does not glorify God. The real answer is to die to self and trust God to work things out. He said: ’Whoever desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow me. Mk8:35. If you saw a man carrying cross in Jesus’ day your would know that man is a dead man.
You see God loves us so much He created a perfect world and gave it to us for our pleasure. But He created us for His pleasure.
And we ought to live for His pleasure Jesus knew his time to be crucified had come and he said, “Now my soul is troubled and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’ But for this purpose I came to this hour. ‘FATHER, GLORIFY YOUR NAME’ God the Father was so pleased that He opened the heavens once again and a voice spoke saying: “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again. Jn 12:27-28.
