“Over the last couple of years we have seen a few people coming from Virar, a suburb situated in the North of Mumbai, to One Nation. Even though it takes them more than an hour to reach they would still try and come every Sunday and their prayer was that one day we would plant a Church in Virar. As prices of housing continues to soar in Mumbai we began to see many more from the Church, especially those living in the slums move to Virar in search of better and cheaper living.
God began to speak to me and some of the other leaders about planting out into Virar and as a team the Elders felt faith rise in their hearts to start a meeting on Sundayevenings. So on the 5th of Feb’17, we had our first evening meeting in Virar. We were 55 of us and after a short time of fellowship and worship i shared a foundational word on giving ourselves to building the church. There was a great sense of faith and excitement.
We have decided to meet once a month for the next few months till we see someone raised up to lead the work and then we will plant the church. Many young couples are moving to Virar an this is a great opportunity to see these young men and women be raised up to lead and use their gifts. This will be a great opportunity for people to start preaching and take leadership. Excited to see what God will do.
We have also seen the hand of God for Virar in that a member from our church has a small piece of land in the area and he would like to give that to us for Kingdom work. At the ‘Leadership Forum’ Janet Brann had a word for us that God will give us a piece of land and it will be used for training men & women for India. This confirmed that it’s time for us to Start the church in Virar.
Virar is situated 35kms from where we meet as One Nation Church. It has a population of 1.25 million. Do pray for this planting that God will quickly establish a team that will serve the community there and we will see many new people joining in.”
